What Profound does

Profound is an AI answer-engine monitoring platform built for marketing and brand teams. It runs a set of prompts against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and other engines on a schedule, then reports how often your brand appears, where it ranks against named competitors, and which sources those engines cite when they answer. It also includes an "AI Marketer" layer for building and running marketing workflows on top of that data. This is a tracking and workflow product: it tells you what AI systems are already saying about you. It does not test why your own pages do, or don't, get pulled into that answer.

Profound's public pricing has changed shape more than once in 2026. As of this writing, tryprofound.com/pricing lists a free Trial (limited AI Marketer credits, 10 prompts run once, ChatGPT only) and a custom Enterprise plan (daily tracking, up to nine answer engines, dedicated support, SSO). Third-party trackers reported that Profound briefly published self-serve Starter ($99/mo) and Growth ($399/mo) tiers, billed annually, earlier this year. Confirm the current structure on Profound's own page before budgeting — it moves.

What we do differently

We don't query ChatGPT or Perplexity on your behalf, and we don't build marketing workflows. We fetch your URL, your robots.txt and your llms.txt directly, parse the HTML and structured data we find, and run a fixed set of rules against it. The result is a 0–100 score across six checks — AI visibility, question readiness, machine readability, trust and authority, conversion clarity and agentic readiness — with every failing check named and a fix attached. Same input, same score, every time. There is no dashboard to interpret. There is a list of things to fix, in order of how much each one is worth to your score.

When to use both

These sit at different layers of the same problem, not in competition with each other. If an AI crawler can't parse your pricing page, or your booking flow doesn't expose a phone number in machine-readable form, no amount of mention tracking fixes that — the citation was never possible in the first place. Run the free scan first. Fix what it finds, either yourself from the $49 report or with our $497/mo accelerator sprint. Then decide whether ongoing brand-mention tracking is worth Profound's enterprise pricing. That tends to make sense once there is a marketing budget built around defending share of voice in AI answers over time — not before the site itself is passing.
